Tackling Student Substance Use Through a Restorative Lens

As student substance use continues to rise, schools are faced with the challenge of responding in ways that balance accountability with meaningful support. This engaging and powerful training, led by two licensed alcohol and drug counselors with over a decade of experience, will equip you with the tools to identify, support, and effectively address substance use in schools.

With backgrounds spanning school-based intervention, corrections, and federal law enforcement, our presenters bring a unique and informed perspective on the current drug epidemic affecting our youth. Having spent the last five years working directly in Midwest schools, they have seen firsthand the impact of student substance use—and the power of restorative approaches in creating lasting change.

This session will provide real-world strategies to shift from punitive discipline to restorative justice practices, reducing suspensions while increasing student success. You will walk away feeling empowered, informed, and ready to take action. Youth are among the most underserved populations, and as educators, administrators, and school staff, you have the power to make a difference. Join us to explore alternative interventions that foster accountability, healing, and change.

Are you ready to be part of the solution? Let’s reimagine how we support students together.
