The Power of Finding CALM

“Finding CALM” does not mean we are comfortable, happy, or relaxed.  “Finding CALM” means we have learned how to manage our physical sensations and psychological emotions (both of which are called feelings) enough to function appropriately/safely - - at least in the short term. The good news is that while we may know nothing about the cause of someone’s distress/trauma, or be able to prevent it, there are simple proven practices to find CALM. And, when those practices become habits, we lessen the damage and begin to heal.

Objectives: Participants will be able to…

  1. Name the most important CALMing practice
  2. Name at least 5 other CALMing practices
  3. Explain the relationship between resilience & stress management practices
