The Importance of a Hand Shake – Building relationships for sustainability

We all don’t know everyone we need to know, but we all know someone, who knows someone, we need to know! Community initiatives are on a continuous mission to build sustainability – both in resources and relationships. The first time you meet someone should be with a hand shake, not a hand out! This session will include a different lens to looking at sustainability, diversifying resources, leveraging relationships, and effectively lighting a fire under the community as prospective investors in your initiatives.

Learning Goals:

1.    Expand and enhance sustainability through a community-centric approach

2.    Methods to diversify the initiative’s portfolio – including engagement, funding and other resources

3.    Tools to meaningfully engage (or reengage) community partners as perspective funders/supporters
