Pam Erickson Biography
Ms. Erickson is passionate leader on alcohol issues. Currently, she owns Public Action Management and supports our alcohol regulatory systems via an education campaign for a “Healthy Alcohol Marketplace.” From 1996 to 2003, she directed the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. In 2003, she joined Oregon Partnership to direct leadership and media campaigns on underage drinking. She is the author of a report, called “The Danger of Alcohol Deregulation, the United Kingdom Experience.” This paper chronicles how deregulation in the UK led to an alcohol epidemic with high rates of underage drinking, public order offenses and alcohol related disease. She has worked with over 10 states on alcohol issues and provides a major source of educational materials on alcohol regulation at www.healthyalcoholmarket.com. A recent publication, “2012 Issue Briefs for States,” is a series of short papers designed to help explain alcohol regulatory issues to legislators and other policy makers. Recently, she served as an expert witness/consultant for deregulation lawsuits in Washington State, Illinois and Kentucky.
