9:00 AM - Noon: Pre-Conference Workshop #1 -
Digging into the Youth Body and Mind....A Detailed Look at Drug and Alcohol Abuse!


Do you ever wonder what happens to the body and mind from drug and alcohol abuse? There are instantaneous reactions and long-term effects. If you want to arm yourself with the knowledge so you can educate youth, parents, coalitions and law enforcement as to "why" drug and alcohol use destroys the mind and body this is the course you have been looking for. This course will be very detailed, yet presented in an easy to understand manner. There are eleven major systems of the body and each of the systems can be affected by ingesting various drugs. This course is designed to teach all individuals to understand the various consequences of substance abuse to the body. The session will also include an overview with picture on the methods of ingestion by our youth and adults in regards to different substances.

1:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Pre-Conference Workshop #2 - Identifying and Recognizing False Documents (Fake ID's)


The proliferation of fraudulent documents and false identifications poses one of the most challenging threats to law enforcement in the post 9-11 world. With the advent of high-resolution photographic equipment, copiers and computers, and with readily available software, one can assume a false identity from the privacy of his own home with just the click of a mouse.

This course will give officers the basic tools needed in the detection of fraudulent documents and false identifications through activities and hands-on exercises. You will also be given some the key indicators and security features that you will use as a Law Enforcement Officer on a daily basis.
